And thrive. About the role This position serves as the primary liaison between the school and the parent community. This role is crucial in fostering strong relationships between parents, students, and the school, ensuring open communication and addressing parent concerns. The Parent Relations Officer will work closely with school leadership, teachers, and administrative staff to promote a positive school environment and enhance parental involvement in school activities.
What you will be doing Act as the first point of contact for parents, addressing inquiries, concerns, and requests in a timely and professional manner. Develop and maintain effective communication channels, including newsletters, emails, social media, and school websites, to keep parents informed of school news, events, and policies. Coordinate parent meetings, including parent-teacher conferences, workshops, and special events.
Foster strong, positive relationships between the school and the parent community. Organize and participate in events that encourage parent involvement in school activities, such as volunteer programs, fundraising events, and school committees. Work with the school’s leadership team to identify and address areas for improvement in parent engagement and satisfaction. Mediate and resolve conflicts between parents and school staff, ensuring fair and constructive outcomes.
Maintain a neutral and professional stance in all interactions, safeguarding the interests of both the school and the parent community. Collect, analyse, and report on parent feedback to help improve school policies and practices. Implement strategies to increase parent satisfaction and address common concerns. Conduct surveys and focus groups to gather input from parents on various school matters.
Provide support to parents navigating school processes, such as admissions, transitions, and accessing school resources. Assist in organizing orientation sessions for new parents and students to ensure a smooth introduction to the school environment.
