Acre is partnering with a leading, high-growth energy and infrastructure platform to appoint a Director of Accounting / Assistant Controller. The opportunity Reporting into senior finance leadership, the Director of Accounting / Assistant Controller will take ownership of corporate accounting, consolidation, financial reporting, technical accounting and internal controls across a complex multi-entity organization. You will be a key member of the finance leadership team, working closely with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Legal, Operations and executive stakeholders.
The role will have meaningful exposure to financing activity, acquisitions, strategic transactions and the continued evolution of the organization’s legal-entity and operational structure. What you will do Lead, mentor and develop the accounting team, creating a high-performing, accountable and collaborative function. Own the monthly, quarterly and annual close process, ensuring timely, accurate and high-quality outputs. Oversee the preparation of consolidated financial statements across a complex legal-entity structure, including special purpose entities, joint ventures, partnerships and holding companies.
Maintain balance-sheet integrity, oversee account reconciliations and ensure accounting issues are resolved promptly and robustly. Lead technical-accounting analysis and documentation for complex transactions, emerging issues and new accounting standards. Provide guidance across revenue recognition, leases, derivatives, debt, business combinations, equity transactions and consolidation matters. Support the accounting implications of M&A, financing transactions, restructurings, divestitures and new business initiatives.
Partner with Tax, Treasury, Legal and FP&A on complex commercial structures, strategic transactions and reporting requirements. Lead and coordinate external audit activity, maintain audit readiness and support a strong internal-control environment. Design, implement and improve accounting policies, processes, controls and reporting practices as the organization scales. Partner with the PMO and finance stakeholders on an ERP transformation, including SAP implementation, optimization and reporting-tool enhancement.
Prepare financial reporting packages for leadership, investors, lenders and the Board. CPA qualification is essential, alongside a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
15+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least five years in a people-leadership capacity. A blend of public accounting and industry experience is strongly preferred.
