To Apply for this Job Click Here We’re looking for an experienced Communications Specialist to join a large public-sector organization in Edmonton. This is a full-time contract opportunity supporting executive communications, employee engagement, organizational change, and strategic technology initiatives. This role is ideal for a strong writer and communicator who can take complex business or technical information and turn it into clear, polished communications for a variety of audiences.

This position is 100% onsite in downtown Edmonton, Monday through Friday, for a 10 month contract term. What You’ll Be Doing Develop executive communications, including leadership messages, organizational announcements, branch updates, and employee communications. Prepare regular communications on behalf of senior leadership. Develop communication strategies and plans for organizational change, transformation, and technology initiatives.

Create presentations, briefing notes, speaking notes, newsletters, FAQs, infographics, and other communication materials. Translate complex business and technical information into clear, concise, audience-friendly messaging. Support employee engagement and change communications. Develop presentations and materials for executive meetings, town halls, leadership forums, and stakeholder sessions. Review and edit communications prepared by leadership and project teams.

Review existing operational communications and recommend improvements to clarity, consistency, and overall effectiveness. Develop standardized communication templates and guidance. Support branding and visual identity for internal initiatives. Work closely with executives, managers, subject matter experts, and project teams to gather information and develop communications. Provide communications advice and recommendations to senior leadership.

Ensure communications follow organizational standards, visual identity requirements, and plain-language principles. What We’re Looking For Post-secondary education in Communications, Commerce, or a related field. 3+ years of experience developing professional internal or organizational communications. 2+ years of experience developing and implementing communication plans and creating professional visual communication materials.

Experience working directly with executives, senior leaders, managers, and subject matter experts. Strong ability to simplify complex business or technical information for different audiences. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong editing, proofreading, organization, and attention to detail. Nice to Haves Experience supporting organizational transformation or change management communications.

Government, broader public-sector, or other large complex organizational experience. Experience developing branding, visual identity, templates, or infographics. Experience preparing communications related to technology outages, service disruptions, or maintenance. Experience using SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, or similar digital communication platforms.
