Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position. Schedule Shift: 19:00 – 07:00 Job Description The Registered Nurse in the Medical Surgical unit is responsible for providing high-quality patient care, managing a patient load of up to 6 patients, and collaborating with healthcare teams to facilitate optimal patient outcomes. Strong IV skills, foley catheter insertion, and EKG experience are essential for this role.
Responsibilities Perform nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed. Monitor patient progress and update care plans accordingly. Provide education and support to patients and their families. Document patient care activities accurately and timely in the EHR system. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.
Respond to patient needs and assist with daily living activities as necessary. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Current RN License. Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience with at least one travel assignment completed. Certifications: NIH Stroke Scale, ACLS, BLS. Ability to start IVs, insert foley catheters, and perform EKGs.
