Registered Nurse – MSICU Location San Antonio, TX Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position. Schedule 19:00 – 07:00 (Rotating shifts) Job Description The Registered Nurse in the MSICU is responsible for providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients with critical conditions. This role requires strong critical thinking skills and the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities Provide direct patient care in the Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit. Monitor and assess patient conditions, including vital signs and neurological status. Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately and timely. Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans. Perform procedures such as intubations, chest tube placements, and central line insertions.
Educate patients and their families about ongoing care needs and treatment options. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Active Texas RN License (temporary licenses not accepted). Minimum of 2-3 years of ICU experience. Current ACLS and BLS certifications. NIH Stroke Certification. Preferred experience in MICU or MSICU settings. Familiarity with Meditech documentation and charting system.
