Surgical Technologist – Day Shift Job Description We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to assist in a variety of tasks in the operating room that support the surgical team. This role involves preparing and maintaining a sterile environment, passing instruments to surgeons, and ensuring all necessary supplies are readily available during surgical procedures. Responsibilities Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, sterile drapes, and solutions.
Assemble both sterile and non-sterile equipment while ensuring all items are functioning properly. Prepare patients for surgery, ensuring aseptic incision sites are maintained. Assist the surgical team with gowning and gloving, and facilitate a smooth surgical workflow. Pass instruments and supplies to the surgical team efficiently during procedures. Assist with specimen care and disposal, as well as post-operative cleanup and restocking of the operating room.
Label medications appropriately and ensure adherence to established policies for medication distribution. Ensure a clean, safe operating environment by maintaining alertness to safety hazards and applying aseptic technique. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure A minimum of 2 years of experience in surgical technology is required. Must have completed an accredited program in surgical technology or have appropriate military training.
Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TSC) is preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Compliance with PA Act 31, 33, 34, and 73 regulations. Schedule This position offers a day shift, working 10 hours a day for 4 days a week. This is a 13-week contract position. Why ARMStaffing?
