Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (CVPC) Location Asheville, NC Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position. Schedule Shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM Job Description The Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (CVPC) is a 40-bed cardiac surgery stepdown unit handling patients recovering from complex cardiovascular and vascular surgeries, including but not limited to open heart surgeries, thoracic lung surgeries, and vascular procedures.
The unit also accommodates overflow medical cardiology patients with various acute conditions. Responsibilities Provide specialized care for patients post-cardiac and vascular surgeries. Manage cardiac medications and IV infusions. Conduct epidural and chest tube management. Oversee tube feedings and patient monitoring. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Must have RN license and required certifications: ACLS and BLS.
