Registered Nurse – Acute Care Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position. Schedule 12-hour day/night rotation with weekends scheduled as needed. Job Description The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide high-quality patient care in an acute care setting. The unit has a total of 30 beds and operates with a patient ratio of 1:6, which may extend to 1:7. RNs are required to be comfortable with this ratio and will work under the supervision of a charge RN, who will also carry an assignment.
Responsibilities Provide patient care for diagnosed conditions such as CHF, COPD, cellulitis, cholecystitis, appendicitis, pneumonia, urosepsis, and acute kidney injury (AKI). Titrate drips, specifically heparin, based on aPTT results. Collaborate with nursing aides (PCTs) on the unit to support patient care activities. Monitor patients with telemetry systems watched remotely by monitor techs. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Must hold BLS and NIHSS certifications.
