UX/UI Design Specialist (Part-Time) We’re currently seeking candidates for a UX/UI Design Specialist (part-time) position at a highly successful investment management firm located in Boston, MA. The UX/UI Design Specialist will translate user needs and organizational goals into audience-friendly digital interfaces (web and mobile) while ensuring adherence to brand standards. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of UX/UI experience and a solutions-oriented mindset and proactive approach.
The UX/UI Design Specialist will work on-site in Boston, MA on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and will work 24 hours/week. This is a 6+ month contract position paying between $35-$40/hour (depending on experience). Responsibilities: Create and refine user-friendly digital interfaces, including mobile and web, to ensure positive digital experiences. Conduct user research (interviews, usability testing, and surveys) and analysis to develop data-driven decisions.
Review digital interface designs with focus on brand standards, business objectives, and user needs. Provide feedback and propose solutions. Assist in creating wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and prototypes while ensuring alignment to brand goals and standards and user needs. Work collaboratively with internal teams to implement accurate design specifications, user experience requirements, and assets.
Assist in preparing and improving user personas and flows, journey maps, and ad-hoc documentation that highlights user needs and promotes positive, cohesive user experience across digital interfaces. Create, update, and maintain design assets while working collaboratively with project teams and stakeholders. Stay up-to-date on design technologies and trends and assist in continuous process improvement processes.
Provide additional support as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Design, Computer Science, or related field (required). 2-4+ years of UX/UI design experience (including internships). Financial services experience a plus, but not required. Previous experience with Adobe XD, Figma, and/or similar design and prototyping tools. Experience utilizing Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or similar content management system (CMS).
Experience with HTML and CSS. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work collaboratively and independently while adapting to evolving needs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and problem-solve.
