People Operations Advisor Annesley, Nottinghamshire Salary: £35,000 - £42,000pa DOE Permanent | Full-time | Predominately On-site however, some flexibility, Macildowie are working exclusively with this client based in Nottinghamshire , to recruit a People Operations Advisor into an established People team within a large, fast-paced manufacturing and operational environment. This is a genuinely varied generalist opportunity for an experienced HR Advisor who enjoys being visible within the business, partnering closely with managers and getting involved in far more than purely reactive employee relations.
With a sizeable operational and shopfloor population, 24/7 operations and plenty of organisational change taking place, youll be joining an environment where HR has a genuine impact on day-to-day performance and the wider people agenda. The Role Working closely with managers and the wider People team, you will provide pragmatic HR advice, coaching and guidance across a broad range of operational and strategic people matters.
Your responsibilities will include: Managing and advising on employee relations matters including absence, investigations, performance and other people issues Coaching managers to confidently manage their teams and people responsibilities Supporting the delivery of People policies, procedures and process improvements Driving effective absence management and helping identify trends and opportunities for improvement Supporting employee engagement, reward and recognition and wider culture initiatives Contributing to talent development, succession planning and workforce planning activity Supporting organisational change and wider People projects Producing and interpreting HR data and management information, including absence reporting Working collaboratively within a unionised environment Ensuring HR activity remains compliant with current employment legislation and best practice Supporting apprenticeship and employee development initiatives What Are We Looking For?
Youll already have solid HR generalist or HR Advisory experience, ideally gained within a manufacturing, engineering, logistics or similarly operational environment. Youll also bring: Strong employee relations experience Confidence handling absence management and investigations Experience coaching and influencing operational managers A proactive approach youll spot what needs doing rather than waiting to be asked Good knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice Strong interpersonal and communication skills Commercial awareness and the ability to balance employee and business requirements Confidence working with HR data and management information Good Excel skills Experience supporting employee engagement initiatives Change management experience CIPD Level 5, Chartered membership or progress towards a professional HR qualification would be advantageous Experience within a unionised environment would also be useful.
