School Cleaner - Part-Time Salary: £12.87 per hour Hours: 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 2:00pm-6:00pm Contract: Permanent, part-time, term time only Term: Term time plus 2 weeks Location: Near Quidenham, Norwich Sector: Education / Estates We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable School Cleaner to join the housekeeping team within a specialist educational setting. The successful candidate will help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for pupils and staff, ensuring consistently high standards of cleanliness throughout the school.
The setting supports children and young people aged 5-16, including pupils with communication and interaction difficulties, specific learning difficulties, autism and anxiety-related barriers to learning. Key Responsibilities Dusting and polishing throughout the school Maintaining clean and hygienic kitchen areas Vacuuming and washing floors Tidying classrooms and other areas Keeping bathrooms clean, tidy and appropriately stocked Emptying bins and disposing of waste safely Monitoring cleaning supplies and reporting when further supplies are required Reporting any maintenance issues or repairs Supporting the wider housekeeping team as required Following all relevant health and safety procedures Duties may vary, and you will be expected to contribute to the overall smooth running of the setting when required.
About You We are looking for someone who: Can work effectively both independently and as part of a team Takes pride in their work and has excellent attention to detail Understands the importance of confidentiality Has good interpersonal and communication skills Is flexible and willing to support the wider team Understands health and safety requirements Has knowledge of COSHH and the safe use of cleaning chemicals Has an understanding of electrical safety A First Aid Certificate would be desirable but is not essential.
Due to the rural location, applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to their own vehicle .
