Housekeeping Assistant - Part-Time Salary: £13.22-£13.75 per hour, depending on experience Actual annual salary: £14,763-£15,355 per year Hours: 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 11:00am-4:00pm Contract: Permanent, part-time, term time only Location: Tokers Green, Reading Sector: Education / Estates We are currently recruiting for a Housekeeping Assistant to join the team within a specialist educational setting.

Working alongside the Housekeeper, you will play an important role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation across the school's internal areas, helping to provide a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for pupils and staff. The setting supports children aged 5-16 with autism, moderate to severe learning needs and associated challenges. The school provides a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child is valued and supported.

The Role As a Housekeeping Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and general upkeep of furniture, fixtures, fittings and internal areas throughout the setting. Key Responsibilities Maintain consistently high standards of housekeeping, cleanliness and hygiene Ensure all areas are clean, tidy and safe Maintain clean and hygienic dining areas during pupil lunch service Report maintenance issues promptly to the appropriate member of the site team Follow all relevant health and safety, safeguarding and COSHH procedures Ensure cleaning chemicals are stored securely and safely Support the wider housekeeping team as required Contribute to the overall smooth running of the setting Please note that duties may vary depending on the needs of the setting.

About You We are looking for someone who has: Previous experience working as a cleaner or housekeeper The ability to work independently with minimal supervision A consistently high standard of performance and attention to detail A friendly and customer-focused approach The ability to work efficiently without compromising quality Previous experience within a care, education or similar environment would be desirable You will be someone who takes pride in their work, works well as part of a team and understands the importance of maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for children and young people.
