Key Responsibilities Costing, Stock Valuation & Product Profitability Assist in planning, organizing, and monitoring product costing systems, stock valuations, and inventory reporting. Prepare and review monthly stock valuations and costing for work-in-progress (WIP) and finished goods. Maintain cost allocation bases for raw materials, production costs, and factory overhead absorption rates. Analyze product profitability across product groups (including distilled, fractionated, and hydrogenated fatty acids, glycerine, and other segments).
Highlight negative-margin contracts, abnormal variances, and cost control risks to management. Management Reporting & Budgeting Prepare segment P&L reporting, support annual budget formulation, and perform rolling forecast variance analyses. Monitor key cost drivers, inventory movements, and production cost trends to recommend corrective actions. Payments, Financial Controls & Risk Management Review payment proposals, supplier invoices, POs, delivery orders, weight tickets, and receiving vouchers for accuracy and procedural compliance.
Identify control gaps, strengthen internal governance, and ensure department readiness for internal/external audits. Coordinate corporate insurance renewals and ensure coverage adequately protects company assets. Accounting, Tax & Statutory Compliance Oversee transaction recordings, journal classifications, and month-end/year-end accounting closures. Review accounting schedules, reconciliations, accruals, and provisions.
Assist with statutory financial statement preparations and coordinate audit query responses. Liaise with tax agents and regulatory authorities on corporate income tax, Sales and Service Tax (SST), and withholding tax computations and submissions. Inventory Governance & Team Leadership Review stock write-offs, stock adjustments, and high-level/slow-moving inventory risks alongside Operations, Procurement, and Warehouse teams.
Directly supervise, guide, and develop junior team members. Job Requirements Education: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Professional accounting qualifications (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, MIA, or equivalent) are highly preferred. Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in costing, accounting, or management reporting within a manufacturing environment. Experience in palm oil refining, oleochemicals, chemicals, or process manufacturing is highly preferred.
Technical Knowledge: Strong foundation in standard costing, product margin analysis, inventory controls, budgeting, and variance analysis. Hands-on understanding of internal control frameworks, payment verification procedures, and audit readiness. Sound knowledge of MFRS/IFRS accounting standards and Malaysian statutory tax regulations (Income Tax, SST, Withholding Tax). Systems & Soft Skills: Proficiency in accounting/ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
