Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant Location: Preston Job Type: Full-Time, Term Time Only Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant Required - Preston We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant to join a supportive Secondary School in the Preston area. This rewarding full-time role involves working with a small group of pupils outside of the main classroom environment , providing tailored support to help them engage positively with learning and successfully manage behavioural challenges.
Key Responsibilities: Supporting a small group of pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs. Delivering targeted interventions and structured activities outside of the classroom. Building positive relationships to encourage engagement, confidence and emotional regulation. Implementing behaviour support strategies and promoting positive outcomes. Working closely with teaching staff, SENCOs and other professionals to support individual learning and development plans.
Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to the wider school team. The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Previous experience working in a Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant position or a similar role . A strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques. Experience supporting children with additional learning, social, emotional or behavioural needs. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
A calm, patient and resilient approach. A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their full potential. Essential Requirements: Proven experience in a similar behaviour support role within an educational setting. Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
