Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Dibden/ Totton Teaching Personnel is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to support a range of local primary schools across Southampton. About the Role As an HLTA, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 .
Working closely with class teachers and SENCOs, you will provide targeted support to individuals and small groups, while also confidently leading whole-class learning when required. Key Responsibilities Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher Lead small-group interventions across core curriculum subjects Provide tailored support for pupils with additional needs, including SEN Assist with lesson planning, assessment, and pupil progress tracking Promote positive behaviour and create an inclusive learning environment Work collaboratively with teaching staff to support pupil achievement Requirements A recognised HLTA Level 4 qualification Previous experience working within a primary school setting Confidence in leading whole-class learning and managing classroom behaviour Strong communication and interpersonal skills A proactive, positive attitude and genuine passion for education Commitment to safeguarding and supporting the wellbeing of all pupils Why Work with Teaching Personnel?
