Teaching Assistant / Catering Assistant (Flexible Role) Location: Hull, East Yorkshire Hours: [Full-Time / Part-Time] Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience About the Role We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and flexible Teaching Assistant to join our supportive school team in Hull. This unique role is primarily focused on providing classroom support to pupils and teaching staff, while also offering assistance within the school's catering team when required.
The successful candidate will be adaptable, reliable, and willing to support different areas of the school to help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of our educational environment. Key Responsibilities Teaching Assistant Duties Support pupils in the classroom and during learning activities. Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and educational programmes. Provide one-to-one and small group support where required.
Help create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment. Support pupils with additional learning needs and encourage independence. Assist with classroom preparation and administrative tasks. Catering Assistant Duties (as required) Support the preparation and serving of school meals. Maintain high standards of food hygiene and cleanliness. Assist with setting up and clearing dining areas. Follow health and safety and food safety procedures at all times.
Work collaboratively with the catering team during busy periods or staff absence. About You We are looking for someone who: Has experience working with children in an educational setting (preferred). Is flexible and willing to support both classroom and catering functions. Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Is organised, dependable, and able to work as part of a team. Demonstrates a positive and proactive attitude.
Understands the importance of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Holds a Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
