Registered Nurse (RN) Job Overview This position offers an opportunity for a Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care across multiple facilities within the designated region. Nurses will be expected to float throughout various units and facilities based on staffing needs. Key Responsibilities Provide nursing care to adult and geriatric patients across a variety of specialties including Cardiac, Neuro, Ortho, Oncology, Renal, and General Medicine.

Coordinate and implement patient care plans effectively, adhering to established protocols. Monitor patients’ progress and adjust care as necessary while maintaining accurate records and charting. Assist with patient education and ensure that patients understand their care and treatment plans. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide optimal care, including interfacing with various healthcare professionals.

Participate in shift rounds and contribute to a culture of safety and quality improvement. Floating Policy Nurses are expected to float within a designated 60-mile radius, covering various assignments in multiple locations within the area. This may include floating to different units and facilities as needed. Scheduling and Requirements Work schedules are released 4-6 weeks in advance, with the possibility of occasional Just-In-Time (JIT) assignments.

Flexible scheduling and availability for weekends (6-9 shifts per 6-week schedule) and potential holiday rotations is required. Orientation is mandatory, and attendance is required for the full week regardless of the delivery format of the modules. Nurses are permitted to make up shifts on either end of the scheduled time off, with a maximum of 3 missed shifts allowed in a 13-week contract. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of Medical-Surgical Telemetry experience is required.

Preferred experience in Neuro care settings. Current certifications including BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS are mandatory. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing patient needs. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Patient Ratios Nurse-patient ratios are expected to be 1:5-6 based on the acuity of the patient population. Nurses may also be asked to assist as Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) if necessary.

Certifications Required BLS (Basic Life Support) ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) Regions Covered Floating assignments will primarily involve facilities located in Colorado Springs, CO and the surrounding cities, including Pueblo, CO and Canon City, CO.
