Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) Job Description We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) with trauma and neuro experience to join our team. This position is critical in providing high-quality care and support in the operating room environment. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments and prepare patients for surgical procedures. Assist in the surgical process by scrubbing and providing support to the surgical team.
Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to safety protocols. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care before, during, and after surgery. Monitor patients’ vital signs and respond to any changes in their condition. Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) with a current and valid nursing license. BLS and ACLS certifications are required. Prior experience in trauma and neuro settings is mandatory.
Charge nurse experience is preferred but not required. Proficiency with EMR systems, particularly Epic. Shifts and Scheduling Block scheduling shifts of 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM or 9:00 AM – 9:30 PM, with night shift options available. Expected call requirements of approximately 120 hours per contract, rotating with staff. Weekend and holiday availability as needed. Call response time should be within 30 minutes.
Orientation and Training Clinicians must be present in the state for the entire week of orientation, even if the initial modules are offered remotely. Unit and department-specific orientation will be provided. Additional Information Floating may be required only in extreme circumstances within designated zones. Scrubs will be provided as part of the uniform policy. The cancellation policy allows the facility to cancel up to four shifts for a 13-week assignment.
