Job Purpose The Vice President, Transformation Services – Epic Optimization will lead the strategy, roadmap, and execution for optimizing our clients’ Epic electronic health record (EHR) platform to maximize operational, clinical, and financial performance. Partnering closely with client executives, revenue cycle leaders, and clinical stakeholders, this leader will translate business objectives into Epic build, workflow, and analytics improvements that drive measurable outcomes.
The Vice President, Transformation Services – Epic Optimization will have a major impact on the ongoing partnership with clients by demonstrating deep Epic expertise, thought leadership in healthcare transformation, and the ability to deliver complex, cross-functional initiatives on time and on budget. Duties & Responsibilities Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement across the organization Define and own the Epic optimization and transformation strategy and multi-year roadmap in alignment with client business, clinical, revenue cycle and financial goals Lead cross-functional teams of Epic analysts, application coordinators, and consultants across modules such as Resolute, Grand Central, HB/PB, Prelude/RTE, Cadence, EpicCare, and MyChart Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing, diverse team, fostering a culture of continuous development and accountability that aligns with long-term organizational goals Assess current-state Epic configuration and workflows to identify optimization opportunities that improve revenue yield, accelerate cash, reduce denials, improve productivity, and enhance the end-user and patient experience Oversee design, build, testing, and deployment of Epic enhancements, upgrades, and new module implementations in accordance with Epic and organizational best practices, ensuring solutions support defined transformation objectives and measurable outcomes Partner with revenue cycle leadership to translate operational KPIs and performance opportunities into Epic-enabled workflow, automation, and analytics improvements and to quantify the financial impact of optimization initiatives Establish and enforce governance, change control, and prioritization processes for Epic build requests and transformation projects, prioritizing initiatives based on business value, financial impact, effort, and client objectives Serve as the executive point of contact and technical expert for clients on all Epic optimization and transformation matters, providing regular status reporting, strategic recommendations, and executive-level presentations Report detected trends in system performance, adoption, or workflow gaps to the client and make recommendations regarding the correction of these trends and/or problems Develop and manage program budgets, resource plans, and vendor relationships associated with Epic initiatives Stay current on Epic releases, new functionality, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices, and incorporate them into the optimization roadmap Mentor and develop team members, building Epic optimization capability and a culture of continuous improvement and results-oriented transformation Provide support to the Business Development team during the sales process, including Epic assessments, solutioning, opportunity identification, scoping, and client presentations Maintain a current working knowledge of all healthcare related issues and regulations Learn and comply with organizational and departmental policies and procedures Establish realistic goals and priorities concurrent with organizational objectives Other duties as assigned Use, protect and disclose patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards Understand and comply with Information Security and HIPAA policies and procedures at all times Limit viewing of PHI to the absolute minimum as necessary to perfor
