Let’s energize the future together.  New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG), a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources, is seeking a Director System Enhancement to lead and oversee the day-to-day and long-term System Enhancement activities of a technical team to support the safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of natural gas service. Drive the standardization of policies and procedures, implementation of Pipeline Safety Management System (PSMS) initiatives, and monitoring of regulatory compliance activities.

Manage departmental operating and capital budgets, oversee corrosion control programs, support materials procurement and inventory management, and represent the company during state and federal regulatory inspections. Prepare regulatory reports and filings, lead the Company's Transmission Integrity Management Program (TIMP) and Distribution Integrity Management Program (DIMP), and serve as a representative at industry events and professional organizations.

Major Responsibilities: Lead the Company's Corrosion Engineering to ensure the integrity, reliability, and regulatory compliance of transmission and distribution assets. Oversee the Transmission Integrity Management Program (TIMP) and Distribution Integrity Management Program (DIMP), ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and industry best practices. Manage and advance Pipeline Safety Management System (PSMS) initiatives to strengthen safety culture, risk management, and continuous improvement efforts.

Monitor, track, and report compliance with federal, state, and local pipeline safety regulations; prepare required submissions and reports for regulatory agencies. Direct the review, maintenance, and enhancement of the Company's Standard Operating, Maintenance, and Emergency (SOME) Manual to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and operational needs. Provide technical leadership for the evaluation, testing, specification, and approval of pipeline materials and equipment.

Investigate and resolve issues involving defective materials, coordinating corrective actions with internal stakeholders, manufacturers, and vendors. Oversee contractor and Company qualification, quality assurance, and performance programs for steel pipe welding and plastic pipe fusion activities. Lead all aspects of New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) pipeline safety inspections, including inspection preparation, regulatory coordination, response management, and remediation of identified findings.

Serve as a technical subject matter expert and liaison with regulatory agencies, industry organizations, and internal business partners on pipeline safety, integrity, and compliance matters. Position Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline required. 10+ years of experience in the natural gas industry, with significant experience in pipeline safety, regulatory compliance, corrosion control, integrity management, or engineering programs preferred.

5+ years of leadership experience managing or leading technical professionals and cross-functional teams preferred. Thorough knowledge of federal and state pipeline safety regulations, including applicable industry standards related to gas transmission and distribution system design, construction, operations, maintenance, and integrity management. Demonstrated ability to interpret regulatory requirements, assess compliance risks, and develop effective programs and procedures to maintain compliance.
