Position Overview WorkWave is looking for an ambitious, technical-minded Assistant Controller to serve as the senior accounting authority within our global finance function.
In this high-impact role, you will sit at the center of our financial operations—owning ASC 606 revenue recognition end-to-end across a multi-product SaaS portfolio while driving our global close, consolidation, and technical accounting strategies. This is not just a maintain-the-status-quo role. You will act as a deputy to the Global Controller, taking point on contract structuring, complex technical memos, audit defense, and process automation.

What You Will Do Own ASC 606 End-to-End: Lead revenue recognition accounting for complex, multi-product SaaS contracts, including performance obligation assessments, standalone selling price (SSP) allocations, variable consideration, and principal vs.
agent analysis. Deal Desk & Commercial Partnership: Partner directly with Sales, Legal, and RevOps prior to contract execution to review non-standard terms, shape deal structures, and ensure revenue conclusions are audit-ready before signature. Drive the Global Close: Co-own the global monthly, quarterly, and annual close alongside the Global Controller. Oversee multi-currency consolidations, intercompany eliminations, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance flux analyses across entities.
Lead Technical Accounting: Research, draft, and defend formal accounting position memos under US GAAP—both within revenue and across adjacent areas (leases, business combinations, capitalized software, stock compensation). Automate & Scale: Transition manual spreadsheet processes into NetSuite, eliminate post-close friction, automate revenue schedules, and shorten our global close cycle.
Audit & Control Defense: Serve as the primary liaison to external auditors for revenue and general accounting, ensuring zero material weaknesses or deficiencies. What We Are Looking For Experience: 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally combining Big 4 / top-tier public accounting with in-house SaaS software experience. Technical Mastery: Deep, demonstrable expertise in ASC 606 within complex, multi-element software and billing environments.
CPA preferred. ERP Proficiency: Hands-on experience with NetSuite (or comparable enterprise ERPs), automated revenue engines, and modern RevOps stacks. Problem-Solver & Scaler: Proven ability to step into ambiguous, undocumented processes, build order, and design sustainable workflows for a high-growth environment. Leadership Mindset: Strong executive presence, clear business communication, and the appetite to mentor teams and step into expanded leadership.
