This role: The Senior Machinist is a key member of a high-performing manufacturing support team responsible for maintaining and improving production equipment and tooling within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
Reporting to the Machine Shop Manager, this position plays a critical role in supporting daily operations through precision machining, equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient machine shop environment while supporting manufacturing operations. • Manage project activities, including cost tracking, material procurement, consumable inventory management, and equipment maintenance.
• Repair and refurbish manufacturing tooling, fixtures, and production equipment as required. • Set up, program, and operate CNC machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, saws, and grinders. • Inspect and verify finished parts for dimensional accuracy and conformance to drawings and quality standards. • Utilize CMM equipment to inspect, measure, and reverse-engineer components. • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records. • Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and equipment issues. • Support continuous improvement efforts. Qualifications and Experience Required qualifications: • High School Diploma or GED. • Minimum of five years of machining experience or a machining-related technical degree. • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience programming and operating CNC lathes and mills. • Strong knowledge of machining practices and precision tolerances. • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Preferred qualifications: • TIG welding experience. • Metal fabrication experience. • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment. Physical and Safety Requirements • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds overhead. • Ability to stand for extended periods. • Ability to wear required PPE. • Willingness to work overtime, including evenings and weeken
