Overview We’re looking for an experienced Assurance & Governance Manager to join our Operations Control team within Gallagher Specialty. This is a high-impact role where you’ll lead the development and delivery of a robust first line assurance framework, ensuring our operational control environment is effective, scalable, and aligned to enterprise standards. You’ll play a key role in strengthening governance, enhancing control ownership, and providing clear, insightful assurance to senior stakeholders—helping us maintain strong regulatory compliance while supporting commercial objectives How you'll make an impact Leadership & team development Lead and develop a high-performing Assurance & Governance team Set clear objectives and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement Stakeholder engagement (core focus) Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across the business Influence and challenge effectively to strengthen control ownership Present clear insights at senior governance forums Assurance & control environment Own and deliver the 1st Line Operational Control Plan Oversee quality assurance, assurance reviews, and thematic analysis Ensure effective implementation of the three lines of defence model Governance & oversight Maintain governance frameworks, forums, and oversight structures Support effective decision-making through robust governance processes Audit, risk & regulatory engagement Lead engagement with Audit, Risk, Compliance, and regulators Coordinate internal and external audits Provide clear evidence of control effectiveness and compliance Continuous improvement Drive enhancements to controls and processes Support business change, including acquisitions and integration Balance regulatory expectations with commercial outcomes About You Significant experience in assurance, governance, or operational risk Proven leadership experience, with the ability to develop high-performing teams Strong track record of working with and influencing senior stakeholders Knowledge of governance frameworks and regulatory environments, ideally within insurance, broking, or underwriting Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly Experience delivering or operating quality assurance and control frameworks Compensation and benefits At Gallagher, we believe supporting our colleagues goes far beyond the role itself.
