What you'll do: The Director, Field Environmental, Health & Safety serves as the senior EHS leader for an assigned QXO business unit, responsible for developing and executing the business unit's EHS strategy while driving consistent performance across branch, transportation, and operational environments.
This role leads a team of Regional EHS Managers and partners closely with business leadership to embed EHS into operational decision-making, risk management, and business planning. The Director serves as the primary liaison between the business unit and the EHS Center of Excellence (COE), ensuring enterprise standards, systems, and initiatives are effectively deployed while providing field-driven feedback to continuously improve EHS programs.
The successful candidate combines strategic leadership with operational expertise and is passionate about building a best-in-class EHS culture focused on learning, resilience, risk reduction, and operational excellence. Business Unit EHS Strategy & Leadership Develop, own, and execute the EHS strategy for an assigned business unit, aligned with QXO's enterprise EHS vision and objectives. Establish business-unit EHS priorities, performance goals, and strategic roadmaps that drive continuous improvement.
Partner with business unit leadership, Human Resources, Transportation, Facilities, and Legal to integrate EHS into operational planning, capital investments, acquisitions, and growth initiatives. Serve as a trusted advisor to senior operational leaders on EHS risks, opportunities, and performance. Champion a culture where safety is recognized as a core business value and operational excellence enabler.
