Job Summary: The Electrical Engineer, DC Power is an entry-level applications engineering role supporting Vertiv's Modular Power Converters product line. This position provides technical support, assists with application documentation, and develops deep product knowledge through hands-on daily work. This role is designed as a development position - the engineer will build expertise through support interactions, lab exposure, and cross-team collaboration, growing toward a senior customer-facing role over time.
Responsibilities: Provide technical support for DC power distribution systems (distribution panels, power conversion modules, controllers) Respond to customer and field service inquiries - configuration guidance, basic troubleshooting, documentation lookup Triage complex issues and escalate to senior team members Create and update technical bulletins, application notes, troubleshooting guides, and customer-facing documentation Maintain technical support knowledge base and develop product training materials under guidance of senior engineers Participate in customer calls and technical meetings with senior engineers to build product and customer knowledge Develop understanding of full DC power ecosystem: distribution panels, power conversion modules, controllers, and adjacent products Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field 1+ years of experience including relevant internship/co-op experience in power electronics, power systems, or related field Foundational knowledge of DC circuits, power conversion concepts, and electrical protection Proficiency with oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, and standard test equipment Strong written and verbal communication skills Eagerness to learn complex systems and develop deep product expertise Preferred Qualifications: Projects involving power conversion, distribution, or control systems Familiarity with rectifiers, DC-DC converters, UPS systems, or battery systems Exposure to lab environments and hands-on electrical testing Basic familiarity with communication protocols (Modbus, CAN, SNMP) Experience with simulation tools (MATLAB/Simulink, LTspice, PSIM) Travel Requirements: 5-10% including internationally The successful candidate will embrace Vertiv’s Core Principals & Behaviors to help execute our Strategic Priorities.
