Caritas Family Solutions is a $62 million nonprofit organization serving communities across Southern Illinois through 22 diverse programs supported by multiple federal, state, local, and private funding streams. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the CFO serves as the organization's senior financial leader, providing strategic oversight of all financial operations while partnering with executive leadership and the Board of Directors to ensure long-term financial sustainability.

What You'll Do As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will: Develop and execute financial strategies that support organizational growth and long-term sustainability. Lead the organization's budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and scenario modeling.
Provide strategic financial counsel to the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, and Board of Directors. Oversee accounting, financial reporting, cash management, investments, audits, and regulatory compliance. Ensure accurate financial reporting across numerous grants, contracts, and funding sources. Strengthen financial systems, internal controls, and business processes to improve efficiency and decision-making.
Monitor financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and develop proactive solutions. Evaluate financial implications of strategic initiatives, partnerships, acquisitions, and organizational growth. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team. Serve as Secretary/Treasurer for Caritas Family Solutions' supporting boards in accordance with organizational bylaws. What You'll Bring Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
Seven to ten years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably within a nonprofit or other mission-driven organization. Demonstrated success leading complex budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, audits, and compliance functions. Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles. Experience managing diverse funding streams, grants, and contracts. Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills.
Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Business Administration or related field. Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Experience working with Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) contracts or other government-funded human service programs.
