Senior Bookkeeper
Description We are hiring a Staff Accountant on-site at our Largo, FL headquarters. As our lead accounting professional, you will be the steward of our financial integrity, owning the entire accounting ecosystem—from full-cycle month-end close and general ledger maintenance to cash flow forecasting, payroll accounting, and AP/AR oversight. You will work directly alongside company leadership, our Risk & Process Manager, and our People & Talent team to build scalable financial workflows that support our multi-state field operations. Requirements Financial Close & Reporting : Own the end-to-end monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. Produce hyper-accurate, timely financial statements and maintain overall general ledger integrity.
Cash Flow & Revenue Operations : Oversee AP and AR functions to ensure accurate job-costing, timely billing, collection management, and disciplined vendor payments. Deliver clear visibility into our cash position and cash flow trends. Process Optimization : Continually evaluate and refine accounting workflows to eliminate manual bottlenecks, reduce errors, and scale internal controls as our project volume grows.
Cross-Functional Collaboration : [PL1] Partner with the People & Talent Manager on seamless payroll execution, benefits administration, and employee-related financial reporting. Work alongside the Risk & Process Manager on compliance and internal audits. External Advisory Liaison : Serve as the primary point of contact for external CPA firms, auditors, and tax advisors, ensuring all documentation is organized and audit-ready.
Strategic Leadership Support : Identify financial trends, risks, and project-costing opportunities, communicating plain-language insights to leadership for confident decision-making. What Success Looks Like: Trusted Financials : Leadership relies implicitly on your financial reports to make strategic operational decisions. Predictable Cadence : Month-end close runs smoothly and predictably on schedule.
Strong Relationships : Subcontractors and vendors are paid promptly, customer billing is completed accurately, and internal field teams feel supported. Scalable Systems: Financial controls and accounting workflows are organized, efficient, and built to handle company growth. Qualifications & Skills: Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience (B.S. in Accounting or equivalent preferred).
Core Technical Expertise: Hands-on knowledge of GL management, financial statements, full-cycle close, payroll, and AP/AR. Project Accounting: Experience with job costing or project-based accounting environments (telecommunications, construction, or technical services preferred). Analytical Precision: Meticulous attention to detail with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving account discrepancies.
Communication & Drive: A self-starter attitude with the ability to collaborate across departments and explain financial data clearly to non-finance team members.
