Anesthesiologist Assistant - Cardiac Pedi

As a Cardiac Pedi Anesthesiologist Assistant, working under the supervision of attending anesthesiologists, you will play a vital role in providing professional nursing services by administering anesthesia primarily to pediatric surgery patients under the age of 18. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of anesthesia to pediatric patients with and without congenital heart disease.

In this role, you will work closely with the anesthesia team including anesthesiology assistants, resident physicians, UT approved students, surgical team and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to the specific needs of each pediatric patient. You will collaborate with attending anesthesiologists to prepare and administer anesthetic agents, carefully monitor patients' vital signs and bodily functions, and adjust anesthesia levels as necessary throughout medical or surgical procedures.

Position Summary: Under the medical direction and supervision of an anesthesiologist, the Anesthesiologist Assistant (AA) administers prescribed anesthesia to surgery patients, and gathers comprehensive patient data to assist in the preparation of patients' anesthetic plan. Obtains an extensive pre-anesthetic patient health history and performs pre-anesthetic physical examinations.
