International Visitor Advisor I or II in Office of International Affairs

We are looking for an International Visitor Advisor I in the Office of International Affairs, and may consider candidates with more relevant experience for a level II position. This role is responsible for assisting all international students, staff, and faculty within our organization in navigating immigration processes. Previous experience as a DSO (Designated School Official) and/or ARO (Alternate Responsible Officer) is preferred, but not required.
The ideal candidate will have experience in international education or immigration. This role involves processing visa sponsorship, which may include submitting applications to USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services), signing legal immigration documents for international visitors, and ensuring compliance with the institution's non-immigrant visa program. This full-time, salaried, exempt position will report to our University Center Tower located in the medical center at the intersection of Fannin and Pressler.
The building is on the Metro Rail line and easily accessible by bus. This role requires you to report to work Monday through Friday during normal business hours, with a hybrid schedule that includes up to two remote days per week. Due to the nature of the role, this position may require occasional visits to the office. This position is eligible for full benefits, including healthcare and a retirement program administered by the State of Texas.
U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Lawful Permanent Residence is required for certification as a Designated School Official (DSO) and/or Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) by the federal government.
