Electrical Engineer Job Description Seeking an Electrical Engineer to join their product development team focused on designing and manufacturing power distribution equipment for commercial and industrial applications. This role will support the full product lifecycle, including design, analysis, testing, manufacturing support, and continuous improvement of switchgear, low-voltage switchboards, power distribution units, and control panels.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship. No visa sponsorship is available for this position. Responsibilities Design and develop electrical equipment, including switchgear, switchboards, PDUs, and control panels. Create electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, bills of materials, and equipment layouts. Collaborate with mechanical and manufacturing teams to support product development and production.
Perform power system analysis to ensure performance, safety, and compliance requirements are met. Support testing, certification, quality assurance, and issue resolution efforts. Work with customers and internal stakeholders to define technical requirements and provide engineering support. Maintain engineering documentation and ensure compliance with UL, IEEE, ANSI, NEC, and customer specifications.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. 3+ years of experience in electrical equipment or power distribution design. Experience with switchgear, switchboards, control panels, or similar electrical products. Proficiency with AutoCAD; AutoCAD Electrical is preferred. Strong understanding of electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and industry standards. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with UL891, UL1558, UL67, and UL508A standards. Experience with arc flash mitigation, thermal management, PLC/SCADA integration, and energy-efficient product design. Exposure to manufacturing processes and design-for-manufacturing principles. Work Environment Onsite position with flexible start times between 6:00 AM and 9:00 AM. Potential for a hybrid schedule after approximately six months based on performance and business needs.
Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Dallas, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $140000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
