Seasonal Soy Bean Production Specialist Job Description The Seasonal Soy Bean Production Specialist supports a high-volume seed production facility during peak harvest and seed processing season. You operate and monitor seed cleaning, treatment, packaging, and shipping processes while maintaining strict safety, quality, and operational standards. This is a hands-on production role in a warehouse environment that requires flexibility to work across a 24-hour production schedule, including day, evening, overnight, weekend, and overtime shifts as business needs evolve.
Responsibilities Operate and monitor seed cleaning, treatment, and packaging equipment using plant software systems. Support daily seed processing activities to meet production, quality, and throughput goals. Perform routine equipment inspections and basic troubleshooting to identify issues and minimize downtime. Carry out preventive maintenance activities in accordance with established procedures.
Collect, record, and verify quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) data for seed processing operations. Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and applicable regulatory requirements. Assist with material handling activities, including seed receiving, storage, shipping, and packaging. Work collaboratively with production team members and site leadership to maintain efficient and safe operations.
Maintain accurate production records, logs, and documentation in plant systems. Perform general warehouse duties such as staging materials, cleaning work areas, and organizing inventory. Use basic computer systems and plant software to track production activities and update records. Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency. Essential Skills High school diploma or GED.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment. Basic computer skills for operating plant software and recording production data. Strong attention to detail with a consistent focus on safety and quality. Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively as part of a team. Physical ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 65 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
Capability to work in an active warehouse environment with ongoing production activities. Additional Skills & Qualifications Associate degree, technical certification, or vocational training in a related field. 1–2 years of experience in manufacturing, warehouse, agricultural, or production environments. Experience working in agriculture, seed production, or seed quality operations. Coursework in biology, agricultural science, or related laboratory work.
Experience with SAP or other production tracking and enterprise resource planning systems. Experience documenting production or quality data in electronic or paper-based systems. Familiarity with quality control processes and basic QA/QC principles in a production setting. Comfort working with warehouse equipment and material handling processes. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Centralia, IL.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
