Department Summary: The Software Wellness, Architecture, & Quality department (L594) is seeking a Software Engineer Intern. The Software Wellness, Architecture, & Quality Department focuses on improving software quality, architecture, and long-term sustainability. The department helps sponsors understand not only whether software works today, but whether it will remain healthy and maintainable over time through software capabilities in the following areas: Software Architecture & Design Software Wellness Center Software Test, Verification, & Validation Job Responsibilities: Build full stack web application utilizing modern web frameworks and methodologies.
Demonstrate expertise in industry standard best practices for software design, implementation, testing, and documentation. Apply rapid prototyping techniques and agile methodologies Work independently and on teams to develop software prototypes using modern software engineering techniques with minimal instruction, guidance, and direction. Basic Qualifications: Must be a student enrolled full-time in an accredited degree-seeking program in Computer Science or a related degree and continue to be enrolled full-time the semester following the internship.
Sustained excellence in academic performance Experience with programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python and C++ Experience with one or more modern web development framework (Vue.js, React, Angular, etc.) Strong written and verbal communications skills Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated interest in serving the public Clearance: In addition to passing MITRE’s employment background check, you may be submitted for a U.S.
