Within MITRE’s Intelligence Center, the Defense Intelligence Department’s mission is to enhance our sponsors’ policy formulation, planning, and strategy execution across the national security enterprise through all-source intelligence and resource analysis that informs decision-making to address threats in an era of strategic competition. The Department is accountable and responsible for intelligence programs with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Intelligence and Security (OUSW I&S), the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI), and the Combatant Command Intelligence Directorates (J2). Roles & Responsibilities: MITRE is seeking an engineer for the United States Pacific Command (PACOM) J2 Common Operational Picture (COP) Intelligence Data Layer (IDL), a J2 top priority requirement.
MITRE is looking for a highly qualified individual familiar with establishing technical and functional requirements, developing test plans, and executing complex validation and verification events. In coordination with DIA’s Common Intelligence Feed (CIF) Joint Program Management Office (JPMO) and Theater Operations/Fires Enterprise, the PACOM J2 will operationalize the IDL across the Pacific Intelligence Enterprise.
The IDL engineer will operationalize complex systems to create a unified and shared understanding of the intelligence environment for decision-makers across the full spectrum of operations and organizations, and collaborate with capability developers to ensure alignment with technical requirements and system integration goals within and beyond the Intelligence Community. The engineer will work closely with stakeholders to verify that all components function cohesively, contributing to a unified and seamless integrated system.
Responsibilities Include: Lead Intelligence Data Layer (IDL) operationalization across the PACOM Joint Intelligence Operations Center and Service Components Work with the CIF JPMO, other Combatant Commands, and Services to prepare and execute test plans and procedures Integrate with joint test organizations for operational verification and validation Ensure capabilities are robust for times of limited communication and verified for sharing across the joint/combined force Engage with J2 Leadership, analysts, PACOM HQ staff, CIF JPMO and MITRE to align IDL requirements with mission needs Basic Qualifications: Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
