Manufacturing Manager Job Description The Manufacturing Manager oversees a production site of approximately 50 team members, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations. This role leads day-to-day production activities, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and maintains a strong focus on safety, quality, and on-time delivery. Responsibilities Lead and manage a production team of about 50 employees, providing clear direction, coaching, and performance feedback.

Oversee daily manufacturing operations to ensure production goals, quality standards, and delivery timelines are consistently met. Plan, organize, and prioritize production schedules and resources to optimize throughput and minimize downtime. Implement and maintain safety practices on the production floor, ensuring compliance with all safety policies and procedures. Monitor key performance indicators for production, including efficiency, quality, scrap, and rework, and take corrective action as needed.

Apply production management best practices and Six Sigma methodologies to improve processes, reduce waste, and increase productivity. Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as maintenance, engineering, and quality to resolve production issues and support continuous improvement. Supervise and support CNC operations within the facility, ensuring machines operate safely and efficiently and that operators follow standard work instructions.

Ensure adherence to established work instructions, standard operating procedures, and quality requirements throughout the production area. Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement among all production team members. Identify training needs and support skill development for production staff to enhance team capability and flexibility. Maintain accurate production records and reports, and communicate status updates and issues to leadership as required.

Essential Skills 3–5 years of manufacturing management experience, including direct supervision of production teams. Demonstrated experience in production management, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation. Hands-on experience in environments with CNC operations or similar precision manufacturing processes. Working knowledge of Six Sigma or other structured continuous improvement methodologies.

Strong supervision and leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and hold team members accountable. Proven safety mindset with experience enforcing and promoting safe work practices on the production floor. Effective management skills, including problem-solving, decision-making, and prioritization in a fast-paced environment. Clear and professional communication skills for interacting with production staff and cross-functional partners.

Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in precision machining or CNC-focused manufacturing environments is highly beneficial. Background in structured continuous improvement initiatives, such as Six Sigma projects or lean manufacturing efforts. Ability to analyze production data and use metrics to drive performance improvements. Comfort working in a hands-on, shop-floor leadership role with frequent interaction with production staff.

Familiarity with standard operating procedures, work instructions, and quality documentation in a manufacturing setting. Why Work Here?
