Job Title: Machinist Job Description This role involves setting up and operating conventional, special purpose, and computer numerical control (CNC) machines to fabricate and repair metallic and non-metallic parts. You will interpret technical documentation, prepare equipment and tooling, and use precision measuring instruments to ensure all parts meet exact specifications and quality standards. Responsibilities Set up and operate conventional, special purpose, and CNC machines to fabricate and repair metallic and non-metallic parts.

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, manuals, and specifications to determine machining and set-up requirements. Prepare machines for production by setting up fixtures, tools, attachments, and accessories according to job specifications. Perform basic and routine maintenance on machines to ensure safe and efficient operation. Use precision measuring devices such as micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions and ensure parts meet required tolerances.

Follow established process flows within the cell while working on different parts and components. Collaborate closely with team members within the cell and with colleagues from other groups such as Quality and Engineering. Train on the first shift schedule as required and apply learned procedures consistently on the production floor. Maintain a strong focus on quality and safety while meeting production goals.

Document work as required and follow all shop procedures and standards. Essential Skills At least 1 year of machining experience or training, including setting up fixtures, tools, attachments, and accessories. Experience or training in reading blueprints, drawings, manuals, and specifications to determine machining and set-up requirements. Ability to set up and operate machine tools safely and efficiently.

Proficiency using precision measuring devices such as micrometers and calipers. High school diploma or GED equivalent. Eligibility to work on programs that require access-controlled information. Ability to train on first shift (typically Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.). Additional Skills & Qualifications Technical trade school degree in machining. Experience with FANUC controllers is strongly preferred.

Experience setting up and operating horizontal and/or vertical milling machines. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Comfort working in a process-driven, team-oriented environment. Work Environment This position operates on a first shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

You will work in a climate-controlled facility with four operational buildings designed to provide a clean, ergonomic, and safe shop environment. Each production cell follows a similar process flow, with variations in parts and components handled. You will collaborate frequently with members of your cell and with colleagues from other groups such as Quality and Engineering. The environment is strongly process-driven, with quality and safety as the highest priorities due to the nature and value of the parts being produced and repaired.
