You are required to work both day and night shifts, as required. It is your responsibility to create a friendly, guest-oriented service culture to ensure Guest satisfaction. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Clean all public Guest areas, back of house (BOH) and crew areas including the crew restroom, staircase & landing and launderette; regularly vacuum, dust, polish and sanitize assigned areas. Oversee general floor care duties including shampooing, stripping, waxing, etc.

Work with and use various chemical cleaning products and floorcare equipment. Remove dirty dishes and/or glassware from public areas. Ensure that cleaning equipment is kept in good working order, reporting any maintenance and/or repair needs to the Assistant Chief Housekeeper; make use of the ship’s reporting system to report maintenance issues. Assist Guests with directions and general information in Guest areas, according to Viking’s STAR Service Standard.

Correctly handle cleaning products, materials and housekeeping equipment, separate & remove garbage and place it in designated containers; clean garbage as often as needed, ensuring that separation procedures and all Public Health Standards are maintained. Assist with special deliveries to Guests on embarkation days, when necessary. Participate in luggage duty on embarkation & disembarkation day.

Participate in “The Daily Reunion” every day to understand your team’s operational needs and to ensure consistent adherence to Viking’s STAR Service Standards. Provide the highest level of comfort and service to Guests and consistently maintain an impeccable standard of cleanliness and hygiene in assigned areas, as per Viking’s STAR Service Standards and all Public Health Policies; proactively prepare service according to Guest flow, embarkation & disembarkation, sea day activities & other activities.

Ensure you always wear the appropriate and task specific Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required for your duties onboard. Always use correct lifting techniques to prevent injuries.
