This position is responsible for managing the ship’s linen and crew uniform inventory including receiving, issuing, reporting damage, depleting inventory, inventory counts and recommending par level top up orders, according to company policies and procedures. This position also carries out tailoring repairs and adjustments to guest clothing, linens and uniforms. It is your responsibility to create a friendly, guest-oriented service culture to ensure Guest satisfaction and repeat business, which in turn, will increase revenue and profitability of the company.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Receive, sort, wash, dry, press and fold guest laundry on a daily basis. Process associated laundry slips and guest charges. Receive, sort, wash, dry, press and issue specific crew uniforms. Receive, sort, wash, dry, press and store ship owned linen items. Inventory management of ship’s linen and crew uniforms namely receive, issue, report damage, deplete inventory, conduct inventory counts, recommend top up orders and assist with requisitions.

Prepare and issue uniforms to returning crew; receive, inventory, launder and store uniforms for departing crew. Regenerate replacement linen from damaged items i.e. creates cleaning rags from damaged towels. Load and unload washers and dryers, according to Viking’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Utilize various items of laundry equipment. Proactively ensure work area is clean and well maintained.

Regularly clean dryer ducts and laundry area. Report all laundry equipment damages and/or malfunctions to the Executive Housekeeper. Correctly handle cleaning products, materials and laundry equipment, separate & remove garbage as needed, ensuring that separation procedures and all Public Health Standards are maintained. Participate in “The Daily Reunion” every day to understand your team’s operational needs and to ensure consistent adherence to Viking’s STAR Service Standards.
