Job Description AECOM is seeking a Structural Engineer III to be based in Boston, MA .  Alternative locations include Chelmsford, MA or Manchester, NH.  In this role, the ideal candidate will lead the design effort and project management for bridge projects in Massachusetts and other states through AECOM’s Northeast region.  This position is an opportunity to work within a well-established and very successful group that offers a diverse range of projects, technical challenges and career development opportunities.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Lead Structural Engineer on projects including reviewing designs and plans. Provides specialized technical input on transportation related projects. Manages bridge projects including design tasks and coordinating work with engineering staff. Conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design of new bridges utilizing structural steel, prestressed concrete, and reinforced concrete.
Assessment and rehabilitation design of existing bridges. Load evaluation of existing bridges. Prepares technical specifications and design documents, report writing, technical engineering support, and limited inspection during construction. Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering plus four years of relevant experience in transportation structures or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Professional Engineer (PE) license and be willing to obtain reciprocity in the jurisdiction of the projects. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering. Project experience with MassDOT. Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microstation, OpenBridge, and similar computer software. Additional Information Sponsorship is not available for this position.
