Job Description JOB OVERVIEW  The Receiving Clerk is responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and recording all incoming goods and supplies. The role ensures that deliveries match purchase orders in terms of quantity, quality, and condition, while maintaining proper documentation and updating inventory records.
It also involves identifying discrepancies, coordinating with suppliers and internal departments, and supporting effective stock control and smooth operational flow.    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  Receive all incoming goods, materials, and supplies from vendors and suppliers  Inspect deliveries to ensure items match purchase orders in quantity, quality, and specifications  Verify delivery documentation such as invoices, delivery notes, and purchase orders  Record all received items accurately into the inventory or procurement system  Report and document any damaged, missing, or incorrect items  Coordinate with purchasing and suppliers to resolve discrepancies or issues  Ensure proper labeling, tagging, and documentation of received stock  Assist in organizing and storing goods in designated storage areas or warehouses  Maintain accurate receiving logs and records for audit and tracking purposes  Follow up on pending or partial deliveries with suppliers  Ensure compliance with company policies and receiving procedures  Assist in stock counts and inventory reconciliation when required  Maintain cleanliness and order in the receiving area  Ensure proper handling of perishable or sensitive items (if applicable)  Support internal departments with supply requests and distribution coordination  Maintain safety standards during unloading and handling of goods  Assist in preparing reports related to receiving activities and inventory status  Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; diploma in logistics, supply chain, or business is an advantage  1–3 years of experience in receiving, warehousing, inventory, or stores operations (preferably in hospitality or retail)  Basic understanding of inventory control and procurement processes  Familiarity with purchase orders, delivery notes, and stock documentation  Experience using inventory or ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle NetSuite, or similar systems is an advantage  Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel for record keeping and reporting  Additional Information SKILLS  Strong attention to detail and accuracy  Good organizational and record-keeping skills  Basic numerical and counting skills  Ability to verify and inspect goods carefully  Communication skills for coordinating with suppliers and internal teams  Problem-solving skills to handle discrepancies and delivery issues  Time management and ability to handle multiple deliveries  Physical ability to handle loading/unloading tasks when required  Teamwork and cooperation skills  Integrity and honesty in handling goods and records  Knowledge of safety and warehouse procedures  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
