Join our UK Water team as our new Hydrologist / Hydraulic Modeller and work with us to close the gap to a sustainable future.  ​  ​Your new role    ​You will join our UK Water team as an experienced hydrologist and hydraulic modeller, bringing strong technical expertise and relevant consultancy or industry experience. You will apply your knowledge of hydrology, hydraulic modelling and flood risk assessment across a varied portfolio of projects.

Our work ranges from UK infrastructure and development schemes to major international assignments involving climate resilience, water management, mining, hydropower and technical due diligence. Working alongside specialists from across Ramboll, you will contribute to multidisciplinary projects while continuing to develop your technical expertise, project delivery experience and client relationships.

The role will suit someone who enjoys solving complex problems, critically evaluating technical information and working collaboratively across disciplines. You will also have opportunities to contribute to the continued growth and development of our hydrology and flood risk capability.    ​Your key responsibilities will be  ​Undertaking and, as your experience develops, leading hydrological assessments, flood risk studies and hydraulic modelling for infrastructure, water management and climate resilience projects.

  ​Applying appropriate hydrological and hydraulic modelling techniques, including critical evaluation of data, assumptions, model performance and results.   ​Providing clear, technically robust advice to clients and multidisciplinary project teams, translating complex hydrological and modelling outputs into practical project decisions.   ​Contributing to a diverse portfolio of UK and international projects, including major infrastructure, development, mining, water management, hydropower and technical due diligence assignments.

  ​Supporting project delivery, technical quality, proposals and client development while sharing knowledge and supporting less experienced colleagues.    ​About you  ​A degree, or equivalent professional experience, in hydrology, civil or environmental engineering, geography or another relevant discipline.  ​Strong relevant professional experience in hydrology, flood risk assessment and/or hydraulic modelling, typically gained over around five years or more in consultancy, industry or a similar environment.  ​Practical experience of hydrological analysis and established hydraulic modelling software such as TUFLOW, Flood Modeller or HEC-RAS, together with an understanding of current UK flood hydrology methods.  ​Strong analytical skills and the ability to critically evaluate data, modelling assumptions and technical outputs rather than simply operate modelling software.  ​Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues from different technical disciplines.    ​What we can offer you  ​Commitment to your development  ​Leaders guided by our Leadership Principles   ​A culture that welcomes you as the unique person you are  ​Inspiration from colleagues, clients, and projects  ​The long-term think
