The Director of Learning & Development develops and executes the organization’s learning strategy to build the skills and capabilities needed for future success.

This role works closely with business leaders to identify needs, develop training content, and create practical learning solutions for employees and leaders. The director brings strong technical learning expertise and insurance industry knowledge, leverages evolving learning technologies, including AI, and uses data to improve learning effectiveness and business performance. This role balances strategic vision, business acumen, and active leadership to develop measurable learning experiences that support organizational success and continuous improvement.

The director reports to Human Resources and works from our corporate office in Sarasota, FL. Key Responsbilities Execute an L&D strategy aligned to business priorities and future talent needs. Partner with leaders, HR, and SMEs to identify gaps and create a skills-based learning strategy. Lead experiential and blended learning programs that build practical capability. Advance learning technology, AI-enabled tools, and data-informed practices to improve impact.

Oversee company learning programs, including onboarding, technical, leadership, compliance, and professional development. Lead and develop the L&D team, fostering innovation and continuous improvement. Reinforce established standards for instructional design, facilitation, learner experience, program evaluation, and learning effectiveness. Use data, feedback, and performance measures to evaluate program outcomes and demonstrate business value.

Manages learning resources, vendor relationships, budgets, timelines, and priorities to ensure effective execution and sustainable results.
