About the Role Muni-Link is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Associate to join our software development team. In this role, you'll manually test the software that powers utility billing operations — meter data, billing calculations, payments, adjustments, and reporting — working closely with developers, product managers, and fellow QA team members to catch defects before they reach our customers.
You'll design and execute test cases, document defects clearly, validate functionality, and help maintain reliable, thorough test coverage. Quality is everyone's responsibility here, and this role is central to upholding it. Note: This position includes full-time onsite work during training and onboarding. There is no fully remote option available. What You'll Do Create, maintain, and execute detailed manual test plans and test cases Test new features, enhancements, bug fixes, and system changes Perform functional, integration, regression, smoke, and exploratory testing Review requirements and acceptance criteria to identify gaps or areas needing additional testing Identify, document, and track defects with clear steps to reproduce, expected results, and actual results Retest resolved defects and verify fixes don't introduce new issues Participate in regression testing and release activities Maintain accurate QA documentation, test results, screenshots, and supporting evidence Collaborate with developers and the product team to investigate and resolve defects Communicate testing progress, risks, and quality concerns to the QA team and stakeholders Help maintain and expand the team's manual test coverage Learn and utilize the QA tools and technologies used across the organization What We're Looking For 1–3 years of experience in software quality assurance or software testing preferred Experience with manual software testing and creating test cases Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to testing Ability to translate business requirements into effective test scenarios Strong analytical and problem-solving skills A knack for spotting unexpected behavior and thinking beyond standard use cases to uncover edge cases Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to clearly document defects and convey technical information to both technical and non-technical teammates Comfortable working independently as well as part of a QA team Willingness to learn a complex utility billing application and the business processes behind it Nice to have: Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment Experience with JIRA or a similar defect/task management tool Experience with test management tools such as qTest, Zephyr, QMetry, or similar Neptune Technology Group Inc.
