Quality Control Inspector (EVS) - Naval Medical Center Portsmouth

PCSI is looking for a Quality Control Inspector to support the Environmental Services team at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth! The Quality Control Inspector (QCI) assists the Quality Control Manager or Executive Housekeeper by helping ensure cleaning, safety, and quality standards are followed according to contract requirements. This role performs inspections and audits using established quality procedures.

The QCI also conducts safety checks, identifies and helps resolve compliance issues, and maintains standard operating procedures and other quality-related documents. This position reports to the Quality Control Manager and is based in Portsmouth, VA, both at the main Naval Medical Center Portsmouth hospital and the outlying branch health clinics throughout the Hampton Roads area.   Typical hours for this position are a morning shift, Mon-Fri 6:00am-2:30pm.

What You'll Do as Quality Control Inspector: Perform and document quality control inspections and audits on environmental service work completed by Housekeepers and Floor Technicians to ensure contractual obligations and the site’s Quality Control Plan are being met. Maintain and fulfill site-specific quality control, environmental, and/or safety standards to ensure completed work meets contract specifications and other requirements.

Report any contractual or regulatory compliance issues to the Quality Control Manager (QCM) and/or Executive Housekeeper, and work to resolve issues quickly. Provide additional support, as directed by the QCM. This may include duties outside what may be seen as typical for this type of a role. In the absence of a QCM, the QCI has additional oversight and reporting responsibilities. What You'll Need: High School diploma or GED required. 2 years of experience working in environmental services. 2 years of experience as trainer or supervisor. Inspection/audit experience preferred. Experience in an environment that includes workers with disabilities preferred. Government contract experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Requires knowledge of Smart phones, iPads, PC functions and software.

Basic understanding of windows applications too include MS office. Knowledge of web-based inspection systems. Ability to obtain and maintain CHEST Certification. Ability to manage QCM established priorities. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in written format. Ability to work as a team member. Other Requirements: Ability to pass criminal, financial, drug, and driving screening. Possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.
