This position is part of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. Major duties: As a PROJECT OFFICER (NUCLEAR WEAPONS USE CONTROL) at the GS-0301-14 some of your typical work assignments may include: Coordinate closely with DOE/NNSA partners in the substantiation of use control measures and technologies for U.S. nuclear weapons. Support and facilitate DoD partners in the determination and requirements for U.S.
nuclear weapon military characteristics with respect to use control technologies and measures. Participate in various working groups, developmental teams, higher level meetings to define and support U.S. nuclear weapon use control activities. Coordinate with interagency partners to identify, request, and deploy use control coded materials. Engage with senior level managers in DoD, DOE/NNSA, DTRA, and others to clearly communicate U.S.
nuclear weapon use control requirements, measures, and technologies. Participate in preparing/briefing senior leadership in preparation for Nuclear Weapon Council (NWC) activities, issues, and positions. Translate national level policy into actionable requirements in the nuclear weapon use control mission space. Education: Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
