About the Position: This position serves as the Facility Operations Specialist for the 633d Medical Group. This position is located in the DHA Tidewater Market at the Langley AFB, VA. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Major duties: Plan and oversee a fire safety program consistent with the Joint Commission EC standards that prevents risks of fire, provide Life Safety Code compliance, and ensure appropriate response of systems and people in the event a fire occurs.,Serve as the Contracting Officer's Representatives (COR) for performing technical surveillance over linen cleaning and Regulated Medical Waste service contractors.,Develop and/or interpret contractor performance standards, verify work meets technical specifications, and safety standards and hold contractors responsible satisfactory completion of work.,Attend staff meetings to keep informed of hospital policies and activities and to provide information on facility operation and maintenance activities.,Manage preventive maintenance, repair, and construction work to sustain safe and reliable operation of patient care buildings, equipment, and utilities consistent with the Joint Commission Environment of Care (EC) standards.
