Serve as GENERAL ENGINEER for Aircraft Carrier Design & Systems Engineering Group. Major duties: You will as the Carrier Systems Engineering Manager (SEM) in support of one of the following functional areas: Aviation, Auxiliaries, Digital/Networks, Electrical, Hull, Propulsion, or Warfare systems.,You will lead, manage, and support your assigned team of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) supporting the SDM execution of technical authority.,You will be responsible for assisting in development, maintenance, and sharing of systems level knowledge within your functional area.,You will oversee development and technical review of aircraft carrier design requirements, specifications, system designs, performance analysis, design criteria, design products and design waivers.,You will ensure applicable specifications and standards for platform integration, while providing technically acceptable solutions as well as technical expertise with various naval engineering systems and their integration into ship design.,You will plan and manage complex programs necessary for the design, maintenance, repair, modernization, certification, and development and support programs involving interaction with a variety of organizations.,You will represent PAE-M CET regarding matters of engineering policy to negotiate decisions affecting critical outcomes primarily associated with systems of systems integration and ship integration.,You will develop and implement policies, processes, and procedures to meet the needs of the Command and customers.

Education: Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.

Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.
