You will serve as a EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST in the Inspections Branch (721), Inspection, Test and Quality Assurance Division of the Deputy Lifiting and Handlinf Department(701) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD. Major duties: You will direct initial inspection of components during maintenance and repair of WHE to determine the physical as well as operational condition.,You will visit work sites and if necessary, meet with code for clarification of scope of work, technical consideration, proper funding and general discussion of proposed work.,You will prepare request, letters, etc.
for the technical division for engineering services.,You will originate and prepare drawing and sketches complete with details. Education: In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.M., if related A transcript must be submitted with your application if qualifying using education.
