You will serve as a Scientist in the Network and Digital System Division, Digital Engineering Department of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER PORT HUENEME DIVISION. Major duties: You will serve as the Optical Sights Baseline Manager and Subject Matter Expert (SME), executing In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) functions for the Gun Weapons System (GWS) as delegated to NSWC Port Hueneme Division.,You will provide strategic leadership and technical direction to a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technicians, and logisticians.,You will provide direct oversight and management of product deliverables, including technical data packages, training materials, and fleet support programs to ensure optimal system performance.,You will lead the production of new technologies and build modifications, perform technical evaluations of items to resolve obsolescence issues, and anticipate future technology trends to improve system interoperability and reliability.,You will serve as the NSWC PHD technical expert and liaison between Program Executive Office (PEO), Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM), the Fleet, Shipyards, and other program stakeholders.
Education: Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess a degree in physics; or related degree that included at least 24 semester hours in physics; OR a combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in physics totaling at least 24 semester hours, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
