If this vacancy includes more than one grade and you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and receive training to help you grow in this position.

Assess, plan and implement a delivery strategy for customer application software on server system environments including planning for continuity of operations during the deployment of new or upgraded application system technology, considering system and customer performance requirements; provide customer application support performing complex technical application transmittal installations as well as necessary application account administration.

Evaluate, test and implement strategies to diagnose and mitigate security vulnerabilities and risks in accordance with information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices, validating business application software to maintain operating system integrity for existing and new server technology. Lead the local implementation of a national project to install, configure, test, and implement vendor supplied modifications to existing systems software; develop and evaluate test data to validate program modifications; and migrate modifications into production systems.

Determine and properly configure, for the infrastructure hardware and software components needed to support the operating environment. Monitor systems performance data for infrastructure; and make appropriate systems tuning adjustments to optimize performance and correct and prevent problems. Requirements: Probationary Period - All newly appointed employees to the competitive (or excepted) service are subject to a probationary (or trial) period.

During this time, your performance, conduct, and suitability for continued employment will be evaluated. You will not automatically convert to permanent status at the end of the probationary (or trial) period. Your supervisor must affirmatively determine that continued employment is in the best interest of the Federal service. If no certification is made before the probationary (or trial) period ends, your appointment will be terminated.

Probationary Period - A person who is required to go through a probationary period and then is transferred, promoted, demoted, or reassigned before he or she completes such period is required to complete the remainder of the probationary period in the new position.
