This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Major duties: The Physician Assistant for Surgery will support Surgical Service for care of adult and geriatric Veterans at the VA Boston Healthcare System. Duties will include, but are not limited to: Provide pre-op evaluation (H&P, risk screening, documentation). Order basic diagnostic tests; review results with provider. Participate in inpatient consults and routine post-op rounds. Assist in procedures and OR cases as approved in privileges.
Coordinate discharge planning, patient/family education, and follow-up scheduling. Collaborate with nursing, anesthesia, case management, rehabilitation, and ancillary services.
